Meet B. Robert Meer, DMD, FAGD

Family & Cosmetic Dentist in Herndon, VA

Thank you for your interest in this practice. I have been a practicing dentist for over 19 years, including 12 years at Elden Family Dental.

Before opening this office, I practiced under a wide variety of circumstances after receiving my DMD degree in 2002 from Temple University School of Dentistry.

I began my dental career with three years in active duty for the United States Army. Following separation from active duty in 2005, I worked in group dental practices and a public health clinic in Maryland.

In 2008 I began working as an associate in Virginia and eventually established this practice. I was able to take lessons from all of my past assignments when designing this office to allow for a comfortable experience with a high standard of care.

Our patients have come to appreciate the personal touch applied to their entire experience, from answering the phone call to leaving with a great experience and continuing care in the years that follow. We continue to welcome new patients with convenient hours including late evenings and Saturdays. We also answer phone calls or respond to messages on off days to schedule appointments.

I’m an FAGD dentist! What does that mean for you and your family?

FAGD stands for Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning Fellowship takes dedication to dental continuing education (CE) beyond graduation. Only about 6 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. When you see a dentist with FAGD after their name, you can rest assured that they care about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. AGD Fellows practice these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year — not every dentist does this.

To become an AGD Fellow, a dentist must:

  • Complete over 500 credit hours of CE.
  • Earn 350 of those 500 credits in live courses.
  • Pass an exam equal in difficulty to board certification exams.
